PRODUCTS >>> FIRE PROTECTION CIRCUIT INTERRUPTER FIRICUS

FIRICUS

The use of electrical devices in industry and every day life is increasing rapidly. We usually stop thinking of the devices once they are plugged in to the closest wall socket. There are things we often forget:

Wires and installation we often do not think about until something goes wrong.

In older buildings when they were built, electrical installations were not sized to power today's amount of electrical devices.

Electrical installation is often deteriorated and in poor condition.

Number of constantly plugged-in devices that work without our supervision increase chances of electrical fire.

The result is that more than 30% of all fires start on electrical installation.

One of the most concerning facts in recent years are men spending more electrical energy for cooling in summer than for heating in winter. Cooling devices are large power consumers, we use them in days of hot weather and they even produce additional heat. Those are perfect circumstances to start an electrical fire. Especially when electrical installation is questionable.

FIRICUS (Fire Risk Current Sensor, known also as ARC Fault Circuit Interrupter) is our answer on the facts above. It's the most advanced security device protecting against electrical fire. It recognizes dangerous, unusual situation in electrical installation and interrupts electrical circuit before fire starts. It is over 85% efficient in primary electrical circuits, where about 70% of electrical fires start.

Certain security level can be user-defined, some are predefined. When fire risk exceeds limits FIRICUS trips and interrupts electrical circuit. Dangerous events are classified, time stamped, memorized and can be later analyzed on computer to help us find dangerous situations before fire occurs.

FIRICUS is the maximum protection you can provide against electrical fire.

>>>FIRICUS recognizes and trips :

fast and reliable trip in case of short circuit even on long extension cables, when other interrupters respond slowly or fail to respond

fast trip with minimal energy left in fault cases

bad wiring and over-heated connections

bad connection with arching

bad interrupting-connection

selectivity of FIRICUS is over 1:10 (it trips on fault current of 1 A when loaded with 10 A current)

faulty or bad collector-motors.
